According to the 1987 Brundtland Report, sustainability is defined as “meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Earlier, in 1972, a research team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) conducted a computer simulation that projected alarming results: if the trends of population growth, industrialisation, environmental pollution, food production, and resource depletion continued at their current pace, the Earth would reach its absolute limits to growth within the next 100 years.

In other words, if humanity continues to act as it does now, global civilisation will face an irreversible period of collapse—potentially as early as 2040, in the worst-case scenario.

In November 2021, at COP26 (the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties) held in Glasgow, UK, RX joined as a founding member of the global initiative “Net Zero Events”, launched by the events industry. Through this commitment, RX has set a clear goal to achieve Net Zero by 2040.
